Ultralow Distortion Line Stage and I/V converter
The GOLD series is new wine on old bottles, and we think you're gonig to love it! You know the concept, but the GOLD series is built with brand new solutions.
The first GOLD product is a Dual Mono line stage, with power supply.
It is built using leaded components, for user assembly, and adjustment. The circuit is a special dual folded cascode, with very low natural distortion. Thus only a small degree of feedback is necessary (12 dB), allowing for both high precision and natural sound.

The GOLD line stage can be used in a high end preamplifier.

Each GOLD! set consist of two boards each measuring: 125 x 94 mm and up to 50 mm in height.
The GOLD Dual Mono Line Stage can also be used as the analog stage of a D/A converter or CD/DVD/NETWORK player, and will accept balanced and unbalanced input signals.
The GOLD line stage will work nicely as I/V converter, connecting directly to I-out DAC chips. At this point balanced output is only supported through use of dual modules.
The sound of this line stage is open, airy, super detailled and nicely relaxed.
The power supply is equipped with high speed Schottky Diodes, and can optionally be supplied with UWB regulators. (Standard is 7815/7915). Rail decoupling is performed with 10uF 250V polypropylene capacitors, which are included in this high-end kit.
The Audio related components are leaded, which gives exclusive quality, and also a degree of flexibility. We use non magnetic resistors from Dale/Vishay (series CMF55).

Only unbalanced output is offered at this point, a balanced output module is planned for next year. The module can be configured as a line amplifier, interfacing to a potentiometer (10 - 100k log / audio taper), or as a I/V converter, interfacing to these converter types:
Balanced Voltage Output. [CS4398]
Unbalanced Voltage Output. [PCM1748][Squeezebox]
Unbalanced Current Output. [PCM1702][pcm 1704][TDA1541][TDA1543]
..but not:Balanced Current Output. [AD1853][AD1955]
The white PolyCaps 10uF 250V are used as high end powersupply rail decoupling.
